Description

In the real story it's princess father the king who wants to marry her. As I'm sure Disney would not have that, I had to take a few twists and turns.

Once there was a beautifully young princess. Her mother had died when she was young, and thus her father the king raised the child. Alas all was not well, for when the princess was round 16 years of age, her father fell very ill. Things did not look well, for the king and his advisers made ready for his death. It was also then that they knew when the king died and the princess took over, as she was still so young she would have to have a regent in her place. That regent was to be a sinister cruel man who crawled his way up to be close to the kings side. He looked forward to the day the king died, he also had eyes for the princess. As she would be queen soon, she would also soon need to marry, well who better then the regent himself he thought? This way the country would not have to worry about a foreign prince. This idea was well liked by the other advisers, if not then paid off to a least. And so This man twice her age, set his goal out to marry the princess. When she heard the news, she was devastated how could she marry such an old, ugly, cruel man? she would refuse. With her father ill, and no one willing to help the poor child she knew she had to take matter into her own hands. She told the advisers that she would not agree to marry unless she had three beautiful dresses. One as golden as the sun, one as silver as moon, and one as dazzling as the stars. She thought this would buy her enough time, but the dresses where made in no time, and was just what she asked for. Seeing no other way out the princess knew she had to get away. Late one night she packed away all three dresses, and put on a servants and snuck out of her kingdom. The poor girl knew nothing of life out side the castle wall so life on the run was very hard on her, and soon she became quite dirty. For shelter she would find any hallow tree she could, and keep moving until she found some one who could save her. Well little did she know while in her tree the king of the said kingdom she was now in was out hunting. His dogs sniffed her out, and when he found her despite her dirt he found her captivating. But she was unsure of him, what if she told him her tale and he sent her right back, or did not believe her story and think her some mad person? Well to say the lest for her own safety for now she played mute. The king took piety on her and found work for her back at his castle as a kitchen maid. It was rather hard work for her, but at lest she was safe and had a roof over her head. As chance had it the king threw a ball, and oh how she loved and missed going to one. Then she remembered her three dresses, which had thankfully not been found out. So she washed herself of all the dirt and wore the sliver moon dress. Every one was in aw of her beauty, even the king who felt quite drawn to her. He danced with her for quite awhile. When the night wore on she quietly slipped away back to her life as a maid. The next ball came along and again she could not help but go, this time she wore her dress of stars. Again she was the most pretty girl in the room and the only one the king would dance with. Then came one last ball, this time she was to wear her grand gown of the sun. But ran into a dilemma, she was on duty tonight in the kitchen. The past few times they took easy on her, as she seemed no good at the time, but on this night they needed all the help they could get. And there in the kitchen she had to wait. The dance had long since started and the king was looking all around for his beautiful princess to show up. Then there she was as wonderful and golden as the sun. She some how manged to get away, but knew she could not stay long. She wanted to tell the king so bad of who she was, yet she was still sacred of what might happen. She then realized she needed to get back to the kitchens to help bring up food for the fast. She bid the king a rushed good by and dashed off away into the night. He tried to run after her but to no avail. Has she did not have time to change she dirty up her face a bit and threw a large old cloak over her to hid the dress. While it did not suite right for a maid outfit the head maid was to busy to care, she would scold the child later she thought. As she was dressed that way she was not to enter the ball room and had to bring the food only as far as permitted so not to be seen by the guests. The king though melancholy over his miss princess had to make sure dinner was over seen. Well it was just by chance he happen to run right into the hidden little princess. She had been rushing and was not looking where she was going. Running into the king, she thought it was all over. But he happen to see a golden hem under her cloak. With out questioning he took off her cloak reveling the sun dress he his princess. He demanded to know all. And thus on her knees sobbing she told her whole story. The king at once took pity on her, and why not? he knew form the moment he saw her at the ball she was the one for him. At once they took soldiers back to her kingdom and got rid of the so called advisers. And with luck and grate joy the king regained his heath and he ruled for many years after. And the king and the princess got married and lived happily threw out there days.
